How to enforce minimum minutes between sessions
If you desire a minimum number of minutes between adjacent sessions, your best bet is to use the integrated Post-Session Recovery feature. Here's how:
- In the Caseload Editor, on the Therapists tab, look for the "Post-Session Recovery" field. Set a desired number of minutes you'd (ideally) like between adjacent therapy sessions, perhaps for paperwork or billing.
In most scenarios, this will accomplish what you need.
FYI, the scheduler treats Post-Session Recovery as a soft constraint -- which means that sometimes it will encroach upon a session's recovery time, if needed to respect your other constraints and preferences.
If you don't care for that, you can reduce your therapist's "Maximize Productivity" preference to 1, and try scheduling again.
If that still doesn't work, or if you need to treat Post-Session Recovery like a hard constraint, there are a few (more heavy-handed) options:
- Reduce your Post-Session Recovery time to 0, but increase every session's duration by the number of minutes you require for recovery
- Use "Class Periods" and/or "Exact Time Spans" to control exact options for when sessions begin (not recommended)
