Adjusting preferences for/against group therapy

Here are some ways for you to tweak how the scheduling engine schedules groups. There are a few ways to adjust your preferences.

If you'd like larger group therapy sessions (but less of them):

  • Increase the preference value for ‘Minimize Session Cost’. This will cause the engine to minimize the number of overall sessions.
  • Increase the preference value for ‘Maximize Productivity’. This will cause the engine to favor schedules with fewer overall sessions.

If you'd like smaller group therapy sessions (but more of them):

  • Decrease the preference value for ‘Minimize Session Cost’. This will cause the engine to maximize the number of overall sessions.
  • Decrease the preference value for ‘Maximize Productivity’. This will cause the engine to favor schedules with more overall sessions, but will leave less free/unallocated blocks of time for the therapist.

If you require certain students to be seen individually:

  • When establishing student sessions, set his/her Delivery Model to "Individual". Beware: Requiring a large number of students to be seen individually may make it more difficult for the engine to find a workable schedule for your caseload.

For maximal scheduling flexibility, we recommend that each student's Delivery Model be set to "Unspecified". The engine will make intelligent decisions about assembling groups based on your other defined preferences.
