Add way to accommodate therapist's preferred student groupings

Brenna 4 years ago updated by Jonathan (Founder) 2 years ago 7

I have an idea of how I'd like to group my students based on personality and abilities; This does not always correspond with which grade they're in, which goals they're working on, or which teacher they have. It would be nice to have a way to specify which students I would prefer to group together. That would more closely reflect how I actually plan my schedule.

I'm pleased to report that this feature has been completed and is now live on slpscheduler.com.  When entering your caseload data, you can now add "groupings", which are lists of students that you desire to be grouped.

Following are the types of groupings available:

  • Must have all of these students together (and no others)
  • Must have all of these students together
  • Prefer to have all of these students together (and no others)
  • Prefer to have all of these students together
  • Prefer to have none of these students together
  • Must have none of these students together

Give it a try, and please send feedback to help@slpscheduler.com.  Thanks!

This would be really helpful! There are students who work well together and other students who don't!

This feature hasn't been implemented yet, but it's close to one that just completed:  You'll now see the concept of Categories within the caseload editor.

Example category:  Bilingual

  • Yes
  • No

Example category:  First/Dominant Language

  • Spanish
  • English
  • French

You can define whatever categories you like, and you can also define the list of possible values.

It's possible to use the concept of Categories to separate students accordingly, but it's not very helpful for cases where you have multiple groupings that you want to keep together (like Brenna mentioned above).

I'm keeping this feature request open to track future ideas on the topic, as well as the best way to implement it.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Yes!!!!  I wish there was a way to manually group students.  The program has no way of sorting out the individual personalities/preferences. This would be an awesome feature! =)
